WPC MICRO SHOT PEENING + CRYO TREATMENT

Optional WPC + Cryogenic Treatment

These combined treatments maximize the surface hardness (wear resistance) and reduce friction to the minimum. Leaves a unique matte surface finish.

**FOR CHARCOAL DLC, GOLD TiN & BRONZE Si COATINGS**

- WPC Treatment is a "micro shot peening" process that originated in Japan. The process involves bombarding the metal surface with extremely hard, fine particles at near-sonic speeds. This creates micro dimples on the surface which leave a hardened outer surface with high compressive stress - this reduces crack propagation and therefore increases fatigue life. The surface is left very smooth with a lowered coefficient of friction due to the micro dimples.

- CryoHeat Deep Cryogenic Treatment (DCT) uses liquid nitrogen to take the material temperature down to -196°C and is held for 18 to 48 hours. Many steel and Titanium alloys see large increases in fatigue strength and surface hardness due to grain refinement and conversion of Austenite to the harder Martensite.
